Visit Chiang Mai Night Bazaar on Chang Klan Road : Shopping, Food and Busy Evening Market Atmosphere

The Chiang Mai Night Bazaars and street markets in the more historical area of the city are the most popular night spots for tourists. It's a must-see location you will want to visit every evening.

There is everything from entertainment, authentic Thai food for dinner, Thai style snack food, fresh produce, trinkets, clothing, shoes and handbags, wood carvings, and much more. This is also an ideal part of Chiang Mai to stay for easy access to one of the popular local night life areas. There are many hotels and other accommodation options very close-by. The other popular day-time and night-life area in Chiang Mai is Nimman wich is centered around Nimmanhaemin Road. This is a more boutique and modern part of the city.

Kalare Night Bazaar and Anusarn Market are two of the largest shopping, dining and entertainment locations on Chang Klan Road near Le Meridien and The Royal Lanna Hotel. Start at the intersection of Loi Khro Road and Chang Klan Road. It is open 6pm to Midnight every night and is a very busy and popular place for tourists that come to Thailand.

Anusarn market has a very popular open style fresh seafood restaurant and other Asian food open style restaurants as well as many other eateries, entertainment venues, and stalls selling clothes, shoes, handycraft, beautiful hand carved wooden wall panels depicting Thai culture, souvenirs and much more.

Kalare Night Bazaar offers traditional Thai handicrafts and souvenirs to clothing, jewelry and accessories, delicious street food, and a lively atmosphere. The market is particularly known for its beautiful silk products, handmade crafts, and unique artwork.

If you're looking for a special gift or a keepsake to remember your trip by, Kalare is the perfect place to find it.

The Nakhorn Ping Night Bazaar Building over the other side of the road is a very interesting mall which also has a basement level with many artists selling their paintings and other creations.

Pavilion Night Bazaar is a lively evening hub also located on Chang Klan Road in the heart of the Night Bazaar district. This bazaar is known for its casual food hall dining with authentic Thai food at reasonable prices. You will find food kitchen stalls inside and BBQ food vendors just outside.

There are many more markets, shops and roadside stalls along the main road and side streets. You will also find many restaurants, bars and night clubs all around the local streets. Prepare to spend at least three nights of browsing to see everything.

During the day the night bazaars are mostly deserted and the street markets are non-existant, but the permanent shops, restaurants and bars are open. Tourists spend the day visiting the various attractions and modern shopping malls around the larger city area and also up to Doi Suthep mountain.

How To Get To Chiang Mai’s Night Bazaar

Chiang Mai’s Night Bazaar area is located along Chang Klan Road, starting just east of the Old City and west of the Ping River. The main market area stretches between Tha Phae Road and Sridonchai Road to the south, with nearby access from Loi Kroh Road, Charoen Prathet Road, and the small lanes around the surrounding hotels, restaurants, food courts, and market arcades. The easiest way to get there is to either stay at one of the many hotels that are very close by or take one of the many tuk-tuk's that operate at night for the tourist. You will not have any issue finding one, its a very busy city at night.
