This huge sprawling market is next to Kamphaengphet MRT or 10 minutes walk south from Mo Chit BTS, then turn right at the police checkpoint and enter through one of the gates. Chatuchak Weekend Market has thousands of stalls and shops and is a "must see" when visiting Bangkok. You could spend the entire day browsing through this market. It is a favorite destination for tourists and Thai people and has anything and everything you could imagine for sale.

Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok is best known as a more upscale wet market. Here you will find high quality fresh food such as premium fruit and seafood, take-away meals, and a food court. This is one of the most high quality markets in Bangkok for both shopping and eating. It is located near Chatuchak markets and the Kamphaeng Phet MRT station which makes getting there easy.

Ideal for a family vacation destination. From Mo Chit Station leave via exit No.1 to the opposite side of the main road and walk through Chatuchak Park for about 10-15 minutes to the other side. It is on the opposite side of the Chatuchak Weekend market on the northern end and the Mixt shopping center. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.

The large new modern Mix Chatuchak shopping center is located next to the Chatuchak Weekend Market and over the road from the Childrens museum. Very easy to get there, a short walk from Mo Chit MRT Station or the BTS Chatuchak Station. Mix Chatuchak is open every day from 10am, but if you visit on Saturday or Sunday you can also walk into the older Chatuchak Weekend market.

Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium is a small public nature attraction that is inside Wachirabenchathat Park which is also called Rot Fai Park.
Being a smaller exhibition, make this visit in combination with seeing other local attractions such as the nearby Chatuchak Weekend markets. Live butterfly numbers can be seasonally low on some visits.
To get there, take the skytrain from bangkok city to Mo Chit BRT, then go out through Exit No.3. and walk up or take a taxi or tuk-tuk up to Kamphaengphet 3 Road to get to Rot Fai Park. View the map for exact location. Using the Grab app for short trips is ideal as it has a pre-determined fare and the driver will drop you off at the entrance.

Union Mall is a popular local fashion mall that is especially known for affordable trendy young peoples clothing, accessories, and many small boutique style shops that are mainly focused on women's fashion. This mall has a more local feel with independent fashion stalls and not any big name brands.

To get there from Bangkok city, take the MRT subway to Phahon Yothin and go to exit 5.

Alternativly, take the BTS skytrain from Bangkok, exit at the BTS Mo Chit station and then transfer by walking at ground level between the BTS and Chatuchak MRT entrances. Take the MRT to Phahon Yothin.

On display is the history and evolution of the Thai postage stamp. This museum in loated next to the post office. From Saphan Khwai Station take Exit No.1 to the road below. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 8.30 am until 4.30 pm. Not open during public holidays.

The noodles are served in shops now rather than from small boats in a canal but have kept the name boat noodle alley.

Some tables sit right beside the canal, while other sections are indoors and air-conditioned for comfort.

This is not a fine dining experience but a fast, lively, casual place where the locals eat.

Opening hours for the shops are generally 10:30am until 9:00pm every day.

To get there, take the skytrain to BTS Victory Monument, then follow the elevated walkway north over the roundabout and head down the steps by the canal.

Victory Monument is one of Bangkok's major transport hubs. The outdoor markets are concentrated under the Skytrain BTS walkway and along nearby stretches of Ratchawithi Road.

Take exits 3 or 4 from the overhead station.

You will usually find women’s clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, cosmetics, phone shops, snack stalls, and small food vendors.

Small shops open during the day from 10am, but the market is the most lively at night with with street vendor hours generally from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, every day except Monday.

Phaya Thai Palace is located inside the Phramongkutklao Hospital complex.

From Victory Monument, take a short walk along Ratchawithi Road to Phramongkutklao Hospital.
Go to Phramongkutklao Hospital, Rajavithi Road side, and look for Gate 7 / the main Rajavithi entrance.

Saturdays and Sundays has guided tours at 9:30am and 1:30pm that take about 2 hours.

This palace is a museum which has 4 traditional Thai houses. Located just ten minutes walk from BTS Phaya Thai at 352-354 Sri Ayutthaya Road. From the BTS station walk a short distance north to Phayathai junction main road and turn right (east) into Sri Ayutthaya Road.

Shopping
This is one of Thailands most busy vacation destinations for tourists and for Thai people. Central World, Siam Square, Siam Paragon, Siam Center and several other malls and shopping complexes are all located very close to each other in Bankok's city center.

Sealife Bangkok Ocean World

This aquarium is one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. Take the exit No. 5. Then enter Siam Paragon and go down to the basement floor level. Opening times are daily from 10.00am until 9.00pm.

Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl Siam Paragon

Take exit No. 5 and walk to the 5th floor of the Siam Paragon. Opening times are daily 11.00am until Midnight.

CentralWorld is one of Bangkok’s biggest and best known shopping complexes in the city’s main shopping district.

You could spend an entire day here in the comfortable air-conditioning, enjoying the shops, restaurants, and entertainment while escaping from Bangkok's heat and humidity.

It has more than 100 international restaurants and cafés.

In this huge lifestyle mall you will also find local and international brand fashion, beauty, gift shops, home goods, cinemas and a indoor ice-skating rink.

CentralWorld is easily reached by using the Skywalk from Siam Interchange BTS station.

The address is 999/9 Rama I Road and opening times are from 10am until 10pm.

This aquarium is one of the biggest in Southeast Asia.

It's a family friendly attration that will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to see everything.

The exhibitions include jellyfish, rainforest adventure, shark walk, coral reefs, ocean tunnel, penguin ice playground, 4D cinema, undersea explorer VR, and a glass-bottom boat.

From the Siam Interchange station, take the exit No. 5. Then enter Siam Paragon and go down to the basement floor level. Opening times are daily from 10.00am until 8.00pm with last entry at 7pm.

Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl combines bowling, private karaoke rooms, and food and drinks in the same venue.

To get there, take exit No. 5 from the Siam Interchange station and walk to the 5th floor of the Siam Paragon.

Opening times are from 12pm until midnight Monday to Friday and 11am until midnight on weekends.

Wedged between Siam Paragon and Central World shopping complexes is this small, yet very important temple.
The temple complex is easily accessible from two public entry gates directly on the Rama 1 road.
Inside the temple grounds is very peaceful and lush with trees and gardens which makes it an ideal retreat away from the bustle of the city.

The Erawan Shrine is one of Bangkok’s best-known urban shrines. This shrine blends Hindu, Buddhist, and Thai spirit-belief traditions and is always very busy with worshippers and other visitors.

The statue at the center of the Erawan Shrine is not a Buddha image but an ornate bright golden figure of Phra Phrom, the Thai representation of Brahma.

In Thai Buddhist and other traditions a small shrine is very often built by many businesses and you see them outside shops, hotels, offices, restaurants, and large commercial buildings. People believe the land and the building should be treated with spiritual respect and not just used for a place of work. The shrines are often refreshed daily with flowers, burning incense sticks, drinks and food offerings.

You can find the Erawan Shrine at the busy Ratchadamri and Phloen road intersection beside the Grand Hyatt Erawan, close to BTS Chit Lom skytrain station. The walkway between stations allows you to look down on the Shrine from overhead for a complete view and take some photos if you want.

Major shopping centres such as CentralWorld, Gaysorn, and Amarin Plaza are close by.

The Ratchaprasong district area is east of the huge Rama 1/Ploen Chit (same roadway), Ratchadamri Road intersection and has several up-market shopping centers.

Central Chidlom is a stylish, long-running Bangkok department store near BTS Chit Lom that is especially good if you want a more polished shopping experience with fashion, beauty, accessories, and lifestyle brands in one convenient location. You will find it on the busy Ploen Chit Road.

Gaysorn Centre is the elegant luxury heart of Gaysorn Village. It is more appealing if you prefer a quieter, more refined atmosphere with premium retail, upscale dining, and a strong fashion-and-lifestyle focus. Located up from Rama 1/Phloen ChitRoad intersection on Ratchadamri Road.

Gaysorn Amarin is another part of Gaysorn Village at a seperate building on Ploen Chit Road, east of the main intersection. It is designed as an exclusive shopping and lifestyle destination with a mix of dining and retail which has a modern, polished, and more upper boutique feeling than Bangkok’s bigger mainstream malls.

Central Embassy is one of Bangkok’s most stylish luxury shopping complexes, located at the intersection of Witthaya Road and Ploenchit Road, halfway between the Chit Lom and Phloen Chit BTS stations. It is known for its striking modern architecture, high-end fashion focus, and a more polished, less hectic atmosphere than some of the city’s larger mainstream malls. This complex has exclusive international brands, many restaurants and cafés, and a cinema.

Level 6 has the unique Open House that is described as a shared “collective living space” for sitting and relaxing, reading, eating, meeting others, and spending family time together. You will find book walls and dedicated reading spaces, food, and art spaces. There is also a family Open Playground for children.

Central Embassy also has a connecting walkway into Central Chidlom shopping complex.

This is a stylish upmarket Thai focused food court in the Central Embassy Shopping Mall on Ploenchit Road. You will find this food court on the lower ground floor.

The food stalls showcase different Thai food themes with regional touches rather than just rows of the generic dishes.

To get there take the walkway from the Phloen Chit Skytrain station.

Nana Plaza (pronounced naa-naa)is a well-known adult nightlife complex on Sukhumvit Soi 4 and located around 300 metres from BTS Nana. It was originally built as a shopping centre, but it later developed into a three-level entertainment complex and is now widely regarded as one of Bangkok’s main red-light districts.

It is a compact, neon-lit courtyard venue with bars arranged around a central open space on three levels, so it feels more like a self-contained nightlife hub than a normal street of bars. Nana Plaza is strictly an adult-oriented nightlife destination.

Opening hours are daily from 7pm to 2am.

Currently under renovation and reported to be in its final stage as of 2026. No completed date announced yet.
A century old residence relocated from Chiang Mai which is a respected research library. Artifacts and the hilltribe costumes of Thailand are on display. Take the No. 3 exit and walk a few meters straight ahead to the intersection with Asok Road, then turn left and walk about 200m. The Siam Society will be on your left.

Soi Cowboy is a short, compact, and brightly neon lit nightlife street in the Asok area of Bangkok, running between Asok Montri Road (Sukhumvit 21) and Sukhumvit 23, within easy walking distance of BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit, and opposite Terminal 21. It is one of Bangkok’s best-known adult only entertainment districts and is only about 150 metres long.

This street is full of bars and nightlife venues on both sides. After dark, the whole street glows with large signs, loud music, and a steady flow of visitors.

During the day it's a quieter scene with some open bars and few people. From 7pm it gets much livelier.

The Emporium is an upscale shopping complex in the Phrom Phong area of Sukhumvit, right by Benchasiri Park and with direct overhead walkway access from BTS Skytrain Phrom Phong. It is one of the three malls in Bangkok’s EM District, alongside EmQuartier shopping mall opposite and accessible via overhead walkway, and Emsphere on the other side of Benchasiri Park which is also accessible using the same overhead walkway.

These malls have luxury fashion and beauty brands, a large department store, a wide choice of restaurants, Emprive Cineclub and a gourmet market with food hall.

Opening times are 10am until 10pm daily.

The Science Center for Education and Planetarium in Bangkok is a long running science and astronomy attraction in the Ekkamai area on Sukhumvit Road that is next to BTS Skytrain Ekkamai.

This is not a luxury attraction and is more like a public learning complex that is a favorite for the locals and school excursions.

The center includes the planetarium which is the main highlight showing full dome high resolution films, as well as science and space exhibits.

The shows are in Thai but there are limited English language sessions that are sometimes available on selected sessions, but not every day. Usually on a Tuesday morning.

It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00am until 4:30pm and has a modest entry fee which makes it one of the best value entertainment shows in Bangkok.

Take the No. 2 exit from the BTS and turn around and walk toward the Ekkamai Bus Terminal. Bangkok Planetarium will be on your left.

Showcasing many retail shops including big name brands, plus Japanese lifestyle and restaurants.

Gateway Ekkamai is a less flashy mall than Bangkok’s big luxury malls.There are more than 50 restaurants and cafés, plus fashion, beauty, and family-oriented zones.

You can easily access this mall directly from the Skytrain BTS using the overhead walkway.

Located on Sukhumvit Road 42, Ekamai. Open from 10.00am until 10.00pm daily.

Sub-Zero Ice Skate Club is a family friendly indoor ice rink that is set up for general public skating. The Skate Club Academy they have also offers coaching and classes.

To get there, take the No. 1 exit and over the Skybridge that links directly to the Bangkok Co-operative Store Building. The Ice Skate rink is on the 9th floor.

Weekends & Public Holidays: 450 THB per 120 minutes (includes skate rental).

It is open Monday to Friday from 10:30am until 7.30pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am until 10.00pm.

W. District Community Mall is a casual lifestyle community center of food, retail, hotel, markets, social spaces, art and music.

The most popular area of this mall is the W. Market.

It has open-air areas where you can relax in an informal setting.

Best time to go is after dark when the food stalls and snack counters are all open.

Located on Sukhumvit Soi 71 and is very close to the BTS station.

This is the easiest, cheapest and most convenient route to take, but is not the shortest way to reach the famous Rot Fai (Train) Night Markets. You will need to take two seperate skytrain lines.

Take the Sukhumvit Line all the way down to BTS Samrong. Switch to the nearby Yellow BTS line by following the signs on the skybridge.

Get on the Samrong Yellow Line station BTS train all the way to Suan Luang Rama 9 which is close to the Seacon Square entertainment complex. Walk a short distance north

This train station night market is located on Soi Srinagarindra 51, Srinagarindra Rd behind the Seacon Square entertainment complex.

Paradise Park is a large spacious local community mall for everyday supermarket shopping, food court, and other dining options with a varied mix of restaurants and cafés.

Located close to the large Seacon Square complex and Train Night Markets which makes it ideal if you need to do some regular shopping at prices the locals pay.

Open 10:30am until 9:00pm Monday to Friday and 10:00am to 9:00pm on weekends and public holidays.

Erawan Museum is one of the most unusual attractions near Bangkok. This museum is built beneath and inside a giant three-headed elephant sculpture inspired by Erawan Airavata from Hindu-Buddhist mythology.

The museum is arranged in three symbolic levels representing the underworld, human earth, and heaven. It showcases antiques and religious objects, a richly decorated central hall with a stained glass ceiling and ornate staircases. The whole place feels part museum and part shrine, which is why visitors are expected to follow a respectful dress code by covering shoulders, chest and wearing a full dress or trousers.

Open daily from 9am until 6pm, with the ticket counter closing at 5pm.

The Erawan Museum is situated on the Sukhumvit-Kanchanabhisek intersection on the south east corner below the main roadway.

To get there from Bangkok city, take the Sukhumvit BTS Green Line to Chang Erawan Station and then a tuk-tuk or taxi a short distance back to Erawan Museum which you would have clearly seen as you passed-by in the BTS skytrain. The huge elephant statue is very distinctive.

Chang Erawan BTS Station Market is an authentic Thai food market with affordable prices. This is where the locals shop. You will also find grilled food, snacks, and fresh seafood. After visiting the Erawan Museum you could drop into this market to get some-thing to eat before heading back to Bangkok city.

You will find it next to the BTS Chang Erawan station.

Opening times are Tuesday to Sunday from 3:00pm to 10:00pm, and closed on Mondays.
