LOT Polish Airlines operates direct scheduled flights between Warsaw and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The route initially runs three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, increasing to five weekly flights from 26 October 2026 through March 2027. Confirm current departure times when booking because airline schedules can change.

The M6 motorway is temporarily open in both directions between Bang Pa-in and Hin Kong as an alternative to flood-affected roads. Continuous access is scheduled from 6:00 pm on 6 October until midnight on 11 October 2026, or until conditions improve. Because the motorway remains under trial operation, follow temporary signs and official instructions and confirm access through the Department of Highways before travelling.

Localised flooding remained active in 27 provinces and Bangkok on 7 October 2026. The Department of Highways reported 129 flooded highway locations across 18 provinces at 6:00 pm, including 21 locations that were impassable. Most impassable sections were in Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao and Ayutthaya, with additional closures in Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi and Rayong. In Klaeng, Rayong, flooding temporarily closed a section of Sukhumvit Road between Pho Thong and Khao Din intersections, affecting through travel towards Chanthaburi. Phuket expects approximately 5,120 visiting US military personnel to come ashore from two vessels between 4 and 9 October 2026. Accommodation, restaurants, nightlife areas and local transport may be busier than usual, particularly in the principal resort districts. Book ahead where possible.

Thailand’s widespread heavy-rain warning has eased, although residual flooding remains extensive. Isolated heavy rain remains possible in parts of southern Thailand. Affected provinces include Surat Thani, Yala, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, Satun, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Songkhla. Eastern Line service is being restored in stages. Flooding continued to disrupt Bangkok’s eastern railway on 29 September 2026. Eight commuter trains were shortened to start or finish at Ban Thap Chang rather than Hua Lamphong. Service arrangements are being reassessed daily; check the SRT incident page or call 1690 before travelling.

Thailand’s general small-boat shore advisory ended after 28 September 2026. Upper-Andaman waves are generally forecast at 1–2 metres but may exceed two metres during thunderstorms. All vessels should avoid thunderstorms, and passengers should confirm ferry and excursion departures directly with operators. Heavy rain remains possible in parts of northern and western Thailand.

Suvarnabhumi Airport remains open, but Thai Airways is clearing a flood-related baggage backlog and has cancelled TG924/TG925 between Bangkok and Munich and TG934/TG935 between Bangkok and Brussels on 30 September 2026. Check your flight directly with the airline before travelling and allow additional time at the airport. Passengers awaiting baggage should retain their baggage receipt and contact Thai Airways.

Flooding has closed part of Thailand’s northern railway between Nong Pho and Noen Makok stations. Their authorised stay will not automatically be shortened when the new rules begin. Arrivals from 15 September are subject to the new nationality-specific arrangements.

Riyadh Air now operates direct Boeing 787-9 flights between Riyadh and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The route initially runs three times weekly, with Bangkok departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and is scheduled to increase to daily service in October 2026. Thailand has now enacted its previously proposed visa changes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and TAT confirm that the current 60-day visa-exemption scheme ends on 15 September 2026.

International visitors can use TAGTHAi Easy Pay through the TAGTHAi app to hold Thai baht and make payments by scanning Thai QR codes at participating merchants. The service is supported at several major Bangkok shopping centres, where qualifying same-day purchases may also provide visitor rewards. Keep a bank card and some cash available because acceptance and app eligibility may vary.

Thi Lo Su Waterfall is scheduled to reopen to visitors from 1 September 2026 after its annual two-month environmental-restoration closure. Conditions and access routes can change during heavy rain, so contact Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary or a local licensed operator before starting the journey. Visitors must follow wildlife-sanctuary rules, including restrictions on single-use plastics, excessive noise and disturbing wildlife.

Krok I Dok Waterfall in the Saraburi section of Khao Yai National Park is closed through 1 September 2026 because of flash flooding and strong currents following heavy rain. This is a localised waterfall closure, not a closure of the entire national park. Check with Khao Yai National Park before travelling.

The Department of National Parks has confirmed a special opening of Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Uthai Thani on 31 August–1 September 2026 for the 36th Seub Nakhasathien commemoration.

Nature-study access at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary is temporarily closed. The sanctuary is exceptionally open on 31 August and 1 September 2026 for the Seub Nakhasathien commemoration. Limited nature walks are available on 31 August, with advance capacity restrictions. After the event, trails will remain closed until the sanctuary announces a reopening date.

Heavy to very heavy rain is forecast across parts of Thailand from 30 August to 2 September 2026, with flash-flood and landslide risks in northern destinations including Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Rough seas are also affecting the Andaman coast, where small boats in the upper Andaman Sea have been advised to remain ashore. Travellers should check road conditions, attraction access and boat departures shortly before travelling.

A new deportation regulation took effect in Thailand on 28 August 2026. It establishes formal procedures for cases involving illegal entry, overstaying, unauthorised employment, document fraud and serious criminal offences. Visitors must leave by the date permitted by immigration and must not undertake paid or otherwise regulated work without the appropriate visa and work authorisation.

The Department of Highways confirms that the full Bang Khun Thian–Ban Phaeo section of M82 opened on 28 August 2026.

The elevated M82 motorway is now open between Bang Khun Thian and Ban Phaeo, providing approximately 25 km of toll-free road above the Rama II corridor. It operates 24 hours daily during the trial period. Cars, pickups and vans are limited to 80 km/h, while buses and trucks are limited to 65 km/h. Motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians are not permitted.

Pattaya Marathon takes place on 26–27 September 2026, starting and finishing at Terminal 21 Pattaya. The Ekkachai–Ban Phaeo extension is scheduled to begin toll-free trial operation at 10:00 am on 28 August 2026, Thailand time. It connects with the existing section to provide approximately 25 km of elevated motorway from Bang Khun Thian to Ban Phaeo, operating 24 hours daily. This is a confirmed opening announcement, not verification that traffic has already been admitted.

The free ISAN UNBOXED FEST: Feel More ISAN runs 28–30 August 2026, from 3:00–9:00 pm, at Museum Siam in Bangkok.

Its five zones feature Isan food, travel deals, crafts and workshops, contemporary performances, talks, wellness traditions and cultural beliefs. Museum Siam is accessible from Sanam Chai MRT station, exits 1 or 2.

Free electric shuttle services will operate on two routes:

• San Pa Khoi Market–Railway Park
• Kad Luang–Railway Park

TAT expects at least 15,000 visitors, so increased activity around Railway Park is likely.

From 16 October 2026, security staff at Thai airports may open checked baggage without the passenger being present when screening identifies a suspicious or prohibited item. Bags will not be opened routinely. Inspections must occur under controlled conditions, be video-recorded and be disclosed to the passenger afterwards.
