Wat Benchamabophit is also known as the Marble Temple and is one of Bangkok's most beautiful temples. It was commissioned by King Rama V and designed by his half-brother, Prince Narisara Nuvadtivongs, in the early 20th century.

The temple’s name comes from the Carrara marble imported from Italy, which was used extensively in its construction. The gleaming white marble gives the temple a unique and elegant appearance.

There is an impressive collection of Buddha statues in various poses, including the iconic Phra Buddha Chinnarat statue in the main chapel.

Wat Benchamabophit offers a peaceful and serene environment. This temple is located on the corner of Thanon Si Ayutthaya road and Rama V road beside Prem Prachakon canal.

The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall is an exquisite example of Italian Renaissance architecture in Bangkok. You cannot enter the building as it is closed to the public. Originally built as a royal reception hall, it now serves as a museum displaying art from the Royal Thai Arts and Crafts Foundation.

This hall is constructed entirely of Italian marble and features a large dome with intricate frescoes depicting the history of the Chakri Dynasty.

The hall did have a collection of Thai arts and crafts, including exquisite textiles, wood carvings, and gold and silver works, which have now been were moved to Ayutthaya.

It is located within the Dusit Palace grounds and is accessible to view from the outside only.

Thewet Market is located along the banks of the Chao Phraya River. This bustling wet market is known for its fresh seafood, live fish, and beautiful flowers.

This market is less touristy than some of Bangkok’s other markets and offers an authentic glimpse into local life.

Thewet market has a distinctly local atmosphere, with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to household items, making it a great place to explore if you want to see Bangkok off the beaten path.

To get there, take a ferry ride to Thewet Pier and exit onto Krung Kasem Rd road.

Located on the Chao Phraya river at the south/west end 68 Soi of 21 Si Ayutthaya Rd, Wachira Phayaban, Dusit District.

Dusit park was once the location of the Dusit Zoo in the heart of the Dusit district. This famous zoo was established in 1938 but now closed since 2018. The animals were relocated to new facilities outside of Bangkok.

The zoo was originally a private botanical garden for King Rama V before being opened to the public. Although the original Dusit Zoo is no longer operational, its legacy is an important part of the Dusit district’s history.

Visitors can still explore the area where the zoo once stood. Located opposite the Dusit Palace.

The new zoo is being developed which is now located at a larger site at Khlong 6, Pathum Thani. It is expected to be completed by 2028 and will be a world-class wildlife learning center.

Suan Amporn is a large public park located in the Dusit district and often used for royal ceremonies, national events, and public gatherings. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the green space amidst the historical surroundings.

The park features statues and monuments dedicated to past kings which adds to the historical ambiance of the area.
