CHIANG MAI CITY TOUR MAP

When visiting Chiang Mai city, make sure you stay over the weekend to be able to enjoy the Saturday and Sunday markets.

Chang Moi District
You will find Chinatown on Chang Moi Road and surrounding streets that go all the way east to the Ping River and then the Flower Markets on Praisanee Road. Turn right off the end of Chang Moi Road and then along the Ping river. This location also has all the songthaew taxi trucks that depart to different areas outside Chiang Mai.

Night Markets
The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, Kalare Night Bazaar, Anusarn Market, Panthip Plaza and Le Dta'wan Market and Plaza all just outside the old city and located on Changklan Road.

Day Markets
Somphet Market is on the east side of the old city next to the moat where you can buy cheap fresh food and clothes.

Walking Streets
Wualai Saturday Night Walking Street Market and Sunday Night Tha Pae Walking Street Market are also the "must visit" attractions which are always crowded with locals and tourists with hundreds of stalls selling food, clothing and everything.

Historical Sites
For the more historical sites there is Wat Phra Singh, Wat Phantao, Wat Chedi Luang, Chiang Mai Historical Center, Chiang Mai Art and Cultural Center, the Three Kings Monument and the Lanna Folklife Museum.

For a relaxing time the Buak Hard Public Park can be found on the far south west section of the old city moat.

Transport
Getting around is as easy as taking a Tuk-Tuk or a public bus which is much cheaper. The public busses are large, modern and air-conditioned services. Pay the driver cash per trip, no ticket, and you can take a short or long ride around in comfort.

Tours
You will find many tuk tuk drivers touting local half or full day tour packages that take you to all the historical sites in old Chiang Mai City.
