WAT YAICHAIMONGKHOL
Wat Yai Chai Mongkhol : A Popular Must-Visit Historic Temple
Wat Yaichaimongkhol is a very popular and busy destination for Thai people and tourists. The complex has a reclining Buddha and very large Chedi, a Temple and Monastry surrounded by beautiful gardens. You can take the steep steps up into the large Chedi. This is where a lay Buddhist would purchase gold leaf on paper and rub in the gold leaf onto each of nine of the Buddha images as a means of paying respect to the Buddha and to accumulate merit.

How To Get To Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon
Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is out side of the historical center of Ayutthaya to the south-east and not walkable distance. By bike it would take about 15 minutes for the 3km ride. The easiest way to get there would be by hailing a tuk-tuk on the street, and being a very popular tourist spot, getting a return ride would be simple.
You could also take a taxi using the Grab app but it is reportably been unavailable sometimes for areas in Ayutthaya.
Show the tuk-tuk driver the photo (above) of the entrance that has the Thai name วัดใหญ่ชัยมงคล which translates to Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon.
