This market opened in 2008 as a large-scale recreation of traditional Thai riverside life. The market now covers more than 100,000 square metres and contains over 100 shops and eateries. At the market entrance you will find a more modern, yet still traditional Lanna style shopping zone along the canal that was opened in 2014. I suggest you visit this complex later in the day to get some air-conditioned relief around mid-day, and an ice cream to cool off.

How to Get to Pattaya Floating Market from Central Pattaya
These markets are located at 451/304 Moo 12, Sukhumvit Road, approximately 10 kilometres south of central Pattaya. From the Central Pattaya shopping centre or Pattaya Beach area, the journey normally takes around 20 to 35 minutes by taxi (use the Grab app for booking convenience), 40 minutes by shared songthaew, and very quick by motorcycle taxi if you are brave enough.

For the cheapest journey, take a regular Pattaya songthaew towards the South Pattaya Road and Sukhumvit Road junction. Cross to the southbound side of Sukhumvit Road and transfer to a white songthaew travelling towards Sattahip. Tell the driver you are going to “Talat Nam See Phak”, meaning Four Regions Floating Market. The driver will wait until the songthaew is full with about 10 people before departing, so you may be waiting a while.
For the return journey, walk back to the northbound side of Sukhumvit Road or order a Grab or Bolt from the entrance.

What To Wear
Choose lightweight and breathable clothing because much of the market is outdoors and Pattaya always remains hot and humid throughout the year. The wooden bridges, ramps and boardwalks are hard, so wear comfortable but supportive breathable shoes with flat heels, or strong sandals. Wearing flip-flops is not a good idea. Shops and boardwalks are mostly covered, but it's still a good idea to wear sun protection. If mosquitoes like you, bring an insect repellent lotion if staying later in the day.
